Avis Budget Group (Avis) is a leading global provider of vehicle rental services, with 24,500 employees in 180 countries. It operates three of the most recognised brands in the industry: Avis, Budget, and Zipcar.

The challenge

Avis needed to replace the payroll systems for its North America and International operations. They had established their key requirements, built a high-level rollout plan and gone to market to select new vendors for each territory. The team wanted expert help to engage with the vendors to ensure the relationships were set up for success.

They turned to Change Associates as a trusted partner. 


What we did

We used our payroll procurement expertise to engage with the vendors and build relationships. We identified how the vendors would meet Avis’s payroll transformation goals, and ensured all relevant costs, including any potential add-on charges, were clear from the start.

Our consultants then worked alongside the client team in negotiations to ensure a comprehensive solution was secured at a best-value price.

Finally, we reviewed the contracts to ensure they reflected what had been agreed in negotiations. We checked there was clarity on responsibilities during both initial rollout and ongoing management and maintenance


The result

  • Commercial contracts were clear, aligned with requirements, and understood by all parties.
  • The final cost was 17% less than the initial quotes despite an increase in the functionality.
