ORGANISATION DESIGN
Case Study Summary
Redesigning for growth in global hospitality
The challenge
A leading multinational hospitality company operating across more than 6,000 destinations was growing successfully in one of its global regions, but recognised its organisation design had not kept pace. It needed to reduce unnecessary layers, address duplication and fragmentation, and ensure the guest experience stayed central as the business scaled.
What we did
Worked with the senior leadership team to define the future vision, establish guiding organisation design principles and conduct a current state assessment, identifying opportunities across layers, spans, duplication and fragmentation.
Created a high-level organisation design blueprint for the group, conducted design authority reviews of senior structure proposals, and restructured the senior team accordingly.
Engaged the next tier of leaders through co-creation workshops; supported and upskilled the HR team throughout; handed over with a clear plan, methodology and upskilled team in place to implement the change.
The result
- Senior leadership team aligned on a clear organisation design blueprint
- £5.5m of savings identified
- The senior team was restructured in line with the agreed design.
- Operational leaders engaged and equipped to deliver the next phase independently.
- HR team is now upskilled and capable of leading ongoing organisation design work.
