The challenge

Avis Budget Group needed to reduce overheads and increase process efficiency across Europe. The company saw an opportunity to make savings by using shared service centres, and by getting best value out of all business assets.

What we did

Change Associates supported the resulting transformation, including establishing a plan, defining a benefits case, organisation design, planning the transition, and implementation across eleven counties.

We identified further opportunities for savings and transitioned 360 in-country roles to 140 positions in two shared service centres. We provided leadership and transformation capability and took full accountability for delivering results.

• Avis achieved savings of €2.5m in the first year, with the anticipation of long-term savings in excess of €14m.
